From the Desk of Mr. Michael Rewick
Dear Patriot Families,
With the first marking period nearing an end, I am providing you with this update on our ongoing efforts to achieve our District goals.
➤Our 1:1 computer initiative with freshmen and sophomore continues in a smooth rollout. Students and teachers have embraced the concept and we are encouraged by its success. Kudos to our Technology Department, led by Dr. Borchard, who has supervised this smooth rollout.
➤Security upgrades continue to be implemented, including the installation of bollards and new cameras. With safety in mind, I encourage you to limit the amount of items that are dropped off daily to the main office.
➤Our No Place for Hate Initiative is progressing with a wide array of expressions. Teachers have been presenting thematically-appropriate lessons; we held a Week of Respect; bulletin boards were decorated; and our Project Bully activity has been completed. The photo students will shortly be displaying their projects outside the Commons. Guest speakers are planned for the near future as well as the rollout of Project Love for February.
➤Communication with parents is evolving to include sports updates on social media, the use of a new parent communication software, and the holding of informative Principal Roundtables to discuss trending concerns, such as the use of vaping devices.
➤Finally, we are upgrading our facilities for new programs such as the Next Gen Science Standards. Our first science lab is currently being reimagined with other labs to follow in the near future. Other facility upgrades include a new baseball scoreboard, new doors for our main gym, and the renovation of our North Gym.
